Former army training buildings that were used in the Second World War could be turned into four holiday lets on the north Norfolk coast.

Plans have been submitted to North Norfolk District Council for the conversion and alteration of the buildings, near Green Way, Stiffkey.

A design and access statement submitted with the plans said: "This army camp was set up before 1939 for target practice and used in the Second World War. The building is an ex-canteen for this historic artillery training camp.

"The conversion of the building has been carefully thought out in order to minimise the external appearances of the historic building whilst securing its future."

In conclusion, it states: "These buildings are an important part of the history of this part of the coast and the very important part that is played in training the artillery and anti-aircraft gunners of the war."
