A notice in the window of the Fakenham store reads: "It is with a heavy heart I have to say goodbye to my little shop. We will be closing our doors for the last time on Saturday 10 August.

"I would just like to say thank you all for your custom over the last ten years, it has been a pleasure to serve and meet you all. Thank you for your loyalty. Best wishes, Nik, manager."

Three staff currently work at the store, and the nearest branch is in Dereham, 15 miles away.

A spokesperson from Holland and Barrett said: "We regularly review our stores with the aim of updating and offering the most engaging shopping experience.

"With the closure of Fakenham, staff members were offered the chance to relocate to one of the other Holland & Barrett stores in the region. We look forward to sharing developments with our Norfolk customers shortly."
