Despite the looming forecast of rain and thunderstorms, masses of fans of James Arthur fans turned up to Sennowe Park in Norfolk with chairs and coats in hand ready to sing their hearts out.

The 30-year-old singer opened his set with a cover of The Fugees' Ready or Not, strutting back and forth on stage backed by a band that was equally as energetic and entertaining to watch.

No.1 single Impossible, the track that Arthur released on winning the ninth season of The X Factor, immediately followed resulting in hundreds of loyal fans belting the words back to him.

The set continued with songs from his most recent album, Back from the Edge, a record about climbing your way back to the top having reached rock bottom. James' own struggle with drugs, anxiety and depression meant that every lyric and note were filled with the pain and passion of someone who has been through rough times and come out the other side stronger.

His voice was so pure and powerful, cutting through the backing music and blowing the crowd away.

With the set well underway, the heavens opened bringing with it the first downpour of rain that some had seen in months. The thunderstorm did not deter the crowd who stood strong, refusing to leave until they had had their dose of James Arthur hits.

Covers of Waiting All Night by Rudimental and Love is a Losing Game by Amy Winehouse made great additions to the set with the best cover saved until the end of the show.

As lightning lit the sky and rain continued to fall, the night drew to a close ending on what was a sensational cover of Don't Look Back in Anger. You'd be hard troubled to find anyone in the crowd who wasn't shouting the words to this absolute classic, erupting into applause as it ended and Arthur and his band bowed and thanked the crowd for what was a night to remember.
