Police investigating the murder of Fakenham man Steven Murphy are working on 1,300 individual inquiries, the leading officer in the investigation said this morning.
But posters issued in Fakenham and Southampton, where it is believed there may have been links to the case, have been unfruitful.
The 45 year old's body was found with a fatal stab wound to the chest at his King's Road home on October 1.
A reward for �10,000 has been put up by the victim's family for information which brings the killer to justice and posters put up around Fakenham appealing for information.
This morning, Chief Insp Jes Fry, of the Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team, said: “We haven't had a strong response to the poster, which is some what surprising. Certainly everyone is aware of them but there has not been an immediate response. There is still a huge amount of work to do and we continue with it. Things are moving on and we continue to work with the same number of staff.
“We have generated something like 1,300 actions, all individual inquiries which need to be carried out, which is a huge volume of work which we will work our way through. That work will increase and we will continue to work through it.”
