The shop on Oak Street opened on Saturday, October 28, and Mayor George Acheson was there to cut the ribbon.

The Fakenham appeal organiser, Diane Boisson, said: “The footfall has been amazing and we are overwhelmed by peoples’ generosity.

“Our branch is committed to providing lifelong support to the Armed Forces community, as well as upholding the importance of Remembrance. And the monies raised during this Remembrancetide will directly support servicemen and women, reservists, veterans, and their families, who are in need.

“We’ve had a successful opening day and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible over the next couple of weeks to get their Poppy, or buy merchandise.”
