Further developments are to be made within Fakenham Parish Church designed to make it more accessible for people with disabilities and more adaptable for community events,

The new phase of re-figuration work inside the historic town centre building follows completion of a major scheme which saw the creation of a community room and removal of pews in the north aisle and their replacement with free standing chairs to make more flexible use of the building.

After Easter work is due to begin on another phase of work which will see pews removed from the south aisle.

The church building is in daily use for both worship and other more-community related events like concerts and fashion shows.

Each Christmas the Church is transformed into a colourful winter wonderland when the Christmas tree festival is staged at the beginning of December. The event, which has become one of the major festive season attractions in the area, attracts thousands of people to the town and the event.

On February 23 a grand book and jigsaw sale was held at the church and a massive eight thousand books were donated. The event raised £903 and this money will go towards the re-development of the south aisle.

Plans for future events include a variety of concerts, a town art exhibition, and a Spring horticultural show.

The next major event will be a Craft Market on March 29.
