A north Norfolk manufacturer has sent giant storage tanks to Haiti to provide fresh water for earthquake survivors struggling to rebuild their lives.Structure-flex, based in Melton Constable, has supplied a leading aid agency with 80 “flexi-tanks” which will be used to store and distribute clean water to those left homeless by January's natural disaster.
A north Norfolk manufacturer has sent giant storage tanks to Haiti to provide fresh water for earthquake survivors struggling to rebuild their lives.
Structure-flex, based in Melton Constable, has supplied a leading aid agency with 80 “flexi-tanks” which will be used to store and distribute clean water to those left homeless by January's natural disaster.
The flexible tanks, with 6,000 and 10,000 litre capacities, will either be used as static water sources in towns and cities to enable inhabitants to fill their own containers, or mounted onto trucks to transport water to more remote areas.
Matt Doughty, the company's head of marketing, said: “2010 is the company's 40th anniversary year, and in that time we have supplied flexi-tanks to many of the organisations which provide support to countries around the world in times of disaster and devastation. They are ideal for the task which awaits them in Haiti.”
Structure-flex manufactures bulk liquid packaging systems, capable of carrying up to 24,000 litres, for the world's food, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas industries.
