People from Fakenham's motoring trade past and present shared their memories of the industry in the town at the weekend.

More than 80 people attended a special afternoon entitled The Motoring Age in Fakenham at the town's Museum of Gas and Local History on Saturday.

Mike Bridges, the museum's chairman, said the day was great success.

“I am absolutely delighted that we had so many people come to the event. We had some marvellous chats about motoring and everybody had a really lovely nostalgic time,” he said.

Throughout the afternoon people were able to look at old photographs and displays about the history of five of Fakenham's main garages - Austin agent Massey and Bridges, Ford agent Southgate which later became Edmondsons, Carley, and Blake's.

Fakenham Auto Club also put on a display of vehicles including a pre-second world war Austin 7.
