A performance group in Fakenham celebrated a major milestone at the beginning of December with packed performances of Jack and the Beanstalk.

The near-sold out run of the traditional tale marked the Fakenham and District Light Operatic Society’s (Fadlos) 40th anniversary pantomime production and attracted record ticket sales, with 1,300 people attending across the six performances.

The show was overseen by first-time directors Tilly Baron and Alex Chidichimo, who were encouraged to take on the role by a Fadlos committee.

“Its a really tough job directing a show, especially when Fadlos have built up their reputation over the past few years for putting on something fabulous but we are a strong team and like a family and we all do our bit to make it work,” Mr Chidichimo said.

This year Fadlos will hold a performance of My Fair Lady in May and White Christmas the Musical in December.
