World-famous actor, writer and director Rupert Everett has become an honorary patron of Wells Maltings.
The star was the guest of honour at a sold-out fundraising event at the building's new auditorium on Saturday, May 25.
About £3,000 was raised for Burnham Overy Village Hall's playground equipment and Wells Maltings' community programmes.
Wells Maltings, the new arts, heritage and community centre, opened on Staithe Street in Wells-next-the-Sea last summer.
Commenting on the Maltings, Mr Everett said: "I think it's amazing this theatre, the sound is very good and the screen's very nice; it's fantastic."
He was born in Brancaster, and added: "Throughout my childhood it was one of the constants in my life, being here, and I feel in a way that Norfolk is my home."
The event included a screening of his film The Happy Prince, the story of Oscar Wilde in his final years, and a Q&A with the audience.
