Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a community-run nature reserve in Sculthorpe.
The Hawk and Owl Sanctuary, on Turf Moor road, was broken into between 11.45pm on Thursday, March 15, and 6am on Friday, March 16.
Three taxidermy birds, an Eastern marsh harrier, a sparrowhawk and a barn owl skull, were stolen, along with some eggs. A storage hut where equipment is kept by volunteers was also vandalised.
Chief executive Adrian Blumfield said: “We can’t describe what we felt when we saw the destruction. We have a lot of people that give their time to make things for the community. There can be no money in what they’ve stolen, it’s just petty vandalism.”
Anyone who may have any information on the theft should contact PC Charlotte Edwards at Fakenham Police Station on 101.
Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
