The team at Fakenham’s Original Factory Shop are putting the finishing touches on their Market Place store, which is set to finally re-open four years after it was destroyed by fire.
Venetia Lake, store manager, said the shop would have a ‘soft opening’ on Wednesday (August 1) or Thursday, and would have a grand re-opening which begins at 8.30am on Saturday August 4, with special guests, birds of prey and activities.
Mrs Lake said the workforce had doubled to 16 - there were eight staff members before the fire - thanks to a partnership with the Job Centre.

She said: “I believe we’ve been very much missed by the town, and we’re hoping that with us returning we’re going to be back at the heart of the community. It’s a big thing for Fakenham and it’s also a big thing for the company.”
Also attending the grand opening will be the police, fire brigade and town mayor George Archeson.
The shop is located in the Aldiss building.
