A fundraising festival of angels was held at a north Norfolk church last weekend to raise money for new LED lighting at the place of worship.
Visitors to St Mary’s, Colkirk, near Fakenham, on May 12 and 13, were asked to vote for their favourite angel with their spare change.
Spokesman Vanda Richards said: “More than 600 people visited, making it a huge success.
“We had angels of varying sizes on display – all original and unique. One of the angels was in memory of Ellie Loades, the 16-year-old girl from Colkirk, who died in 2013.
“It raised money for the charity www.ellieslove.co.uk, which supports local people with cystic fibrosis in her memory.
“We also held an art exhibition with 100 paintings for sale and Reverend Robin Stapleford closed the festival with an angel-themed songs of praise service with the benefice choir.”
The church also took part in BBC Radio Norfolk’s Treasure Quest.
