Robert Lambert has taken the next step in his fledgling career by agreeing to ride in Sweden next season.
The 17-year-old rider from Foulsham will make his Elitserien debut with newly-promoted Masarna in 2016 after impressing during a one-off appearance for the club last term. He is only the second British rider to have currently agreed a top-flight deal in Sweden, with world champion Tai Woffinden once again opting to represent champions Vetlanda.
Masarna's sports director Robert Uppgard told Speedwaynyheter.se: 'Many in Avesta almost demanded that we sign a contract with Lambert. We agreed it a few weeks ago, and have finally got a contract signed.'
The Norfolk teenager – yet to announce where, and if, he will be riding in the UK when the motorsport returns in March – made his top-tier debut in England for King's Lynn Stars in 2014 and is seen as one of the UK's brightest talents. While riding for his come county club this season, Lambert shot to international prominence by shining for Great Britain in the summer's World Cup.
