Budding chef Kaya Parke, 15, won the Norfolk and regional rounds of the Futurechef competition which has qualified her to represent the East of England in the national final, which will be held on March 12 in London.

Having won the local rounds, Kaya was given the opportunity to choose a mentor and she teamed up with her father, Jeremy Parke, an award winning head chef at Season Seafood and Grill in Wells.

Now the father-daughter team are preparing a menu for the final stage of the industry-backed scheme which is sponsored by high profile businesses, including Hilton, Hyatt Regency and the Dorchester.

It takes place at Kingsway College in Westminster and 12 regional winners will compete to be the National champion. Past winners have gone on to gain high profile roles within the industry.
