The congregation of a much-loved Norfolk church is rejoicing, after the 13th century building won a share of a £290,000 payout from the National Churches Trust.
The £10,000 'cornerstone' grant will go towards a project to install an accessible toilet and kitchenette at Grade II listed St Andrew's Church, Thursford.
A church spokesman said well-attended concerts and events raised much-needed funds but, as a small village, Thursford relied on organisations like the National Churches Trust.
BBC newsreader Huw Edwards, who is vice president of the charity, said the grant would allow the church to better serve its community.
He added: "The UK's historic churches and chapels are a vital part of our national heritage, but to survive, many need to carry out urgent repairs and install modern facilities. The cost of this work is far beyond what most congregations can pay for themselves."
