TV chef and Norfolk restaurateur Chris Coubrough will help students launch a high school Christmas Market next month.

The New Zealander, star of BBC's Coastal Kitchen and owner of a growing list of local pubs, will formally open the event at Fakenham High School on Field Lane on Saturday 7 November.

Organisers expect the colourful market to be the biggest ever, with more than 80 stalls selling a diverse range of seasonal goods including jewellery, fair-trade products, chocolates, homemade cheeses, stained glass, handbags, cushions, clocks and ironmongery.

Shoppers will also be able to mull over their early Christmas shopping ideas over lunch at a restaurant run by the school's GCSE catering students.

The free event, open from 10am-3pm, is organised the Friends of Fakenham High School and College - a registered charity set up by parents to raise money for projects and equipment.

Earlier this month, Mr Coubrough added The Ship at Brancaster to his North Norfolk pub portfolio, which already includes The Crown at Wells, The Crown at East Rudham and the King's Head at Letheringsett.
