Two Norfolk pubs have raised thousands of pounds for a leading cancer charity.

Staff at The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster Staithe have held a series of fundraising events over the past few months and raised a total of £5,065 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sema Hussein, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support Norfolk and Suffolk called it a “tremendous” amount of money and said it would make a significant difference to people living with cancer in Norfolk.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing support of the fund raising teams at The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors, and for their generosity toward Macmillan.”

Rob Williamson, general manager at The White Horse said: “We pull out all the stops to raise as much as possible each year. Over the past 14 years we have raised in excess of £35,000 for Macmillan.”

Mr Williamson added that they had only raised so much thanks to the generosity of their customers.
