The high school and primary school in Wells are both looking for new headteachers.

The positions at the primary and nursery school, and at Alderman Peel High School, in Wells, are now being advertised on the Times Educational Supplement (TES) website.

This follows the announcement that Alderman Peel's headteacher Jon Platten is to become principal of the Open Academy, in Norwich, after Easter.

Carol Jennings, the headteacher at Wells Primary, is retiring in August after seven years at the school.

Both schools have received positive Ofsted reports in recent months with Alderman Peel being rated “outstanding” following an inspection last June and Wells Primary being rated as “good” after an inspection in November.

The closing date for applications for the Wells Primary post is April 1 with interviews on May 20 and 21. For the vacancy at Alderman Peel the deadline is April 7 with interviews on May 6 and 7.
