A popular scarecrow festival is set to descend on a north Norfolk village this May bank holiday.
The 19th annual Wighton Scarecrow Festival will take place on May 5-7 and will feature both real and live ones.
The children’s scarecrow competition takes place at 2.30pm on Sunday on the common opposite the Carpenters Arms. Entry is free and there will be prizes given. There will also be children’s colouring and craft in the village hall.
Visitors will have the opportunity to leave a jam jar posy in Wighton All Saints Church in memory or celebration of someone or something special. A collection of the Wighton pantomime costumes will be on display.
Refreshments will be available and parking is free.
A spokesperson for the event said: “The Scarecrow Festival is a big part of the village fundraising.”
