Fakenham U7, after a season of winning all four tournaments they played in, changed to Fakenham U8 a couple of weeks ago and won their first tournament on Sunday.

The boys started slowly against Refley, drawing a tough game 0-0. Next up were Taverham, and although Fakenham scored a long-awaited goal from a cracking header from Kieron Belton, Taverham pulled it back to a 1-1 draw.

This fired Fakenham up to take on Dersingham with Jay, Kieron and Lennon all on the scoresheet to give Fakenham a well deserved 3-0 win.

Then they were on fire, blasting in goals past a shocked Wootton side with Josh's strength through the middle and Archie's great defending giving Fakenham an 8-0 win, putting them through to the semis to take on Heacham.

Heacham were strong and went one up, but with Brandon's determination and hard tackling Fakenham went on to equalise with a goal from Kieron to take them into extra time which took them on to penalties.

Fakenham slotted home all their penalties with Elliot Hull nearly breaking the back of the net with a cracking shot, but Heacham could get nothing past Jack the goalkeeper, who was amazing sealing the boys' place in the final against Taverham.

For the second time that day Fakenham met a strong Taverham side desperately wanting to beat them for the first time after two meetings in the past, but the final whistle left it 0-0 and extra time changed nothing, so again it went to penalties.

Lennon stepped up first and hit the top left corner. Taverham hit back with a great strike but Jack pulled off an amazing save. Next up was Jay who audaciously placed it bottom left. Taverham shot over the bar and Fakenham captain Kieron easily slotted Fakenham's third. Taverham needed a goal desperately but again Jack pulled off a brilliant save, leaving Brandon to face the Taverham keeper. He put in a good goal for Fakenham to win the tournament once again.

Man of the match went to the goalie Jack. Team of the day: Jay, Brandon, Kieron, Jack, Elliot, Archie, Josh, Lennon. Managers: Shaun Futter and Neil Myhill.
