Crown Fire Central & South Norfolk League

It is as you were at the top of Division One with the three title contenders all winning.

Thetford Athletic finished their fixtures with a 2-0 win at Gressenhall and now know that they are certain to finish at least as runners-up.

Saham Toney won by the odd goal of three at Yaxham but their 3-0 midweek defeat at the hands of Mulbarton Wanderers means they cannot now catch Thetford.

Meanwhile, Mulbarton Wanderers enjoyed a big 8-1 win at Rockland United and they need maximum points from their remaining four matches to pip Thetford for the title. Shipdham beat Dereham Town A 4-0 to move up to fourth place, Hingham Athletic and East Harling Reserves took a point each from a 2-2 draw and Bridgham United beat bottom team Toftwood Rangers by the odd goal of seven.

Division Two leaders Attleborough Town A have now finished their fixtures and will have to wait to see whether the teams immediately below them can catch them up.

Dickleburgh in secnd place dropped two points in a goalless draw with Tacolneston while Cockers moved above Swaffham Town A into third place as a result of beating them by the only goal of the game. Watton United A remain fifth after winning their local derby with Saham Toney Reserves 2-1. Morley Village Reserves beat Necton Reserves 6-2, Wymondham Town A were 4-1 winners at Hingham Athletic Reserves and Bunwell beat bottom team Yaxham Reserves 7-1.

The Division Three leaders, West End, dropped three valuable points in losing 2-1 at Foulsham Reserves and the advantage is now back with Thetford Rovers Reserves who beat third placed Shropham United 3-1 after a goalless first half in a match that was well controlled by referee Nigel Raven.

Sporle in fifth place also lost ground on the leaders, going down to a 3-2 defeat at Gressenhall Reserves. Bradenham Wanderers Reserves won 4-1 at bottom team Rockland United Reserves, Wendling and Great Cressingham shared the spoils from a 2-2 draw and Swanton Morley ran up the highest score of the day in beating Shipdham Reserves 9-0.

Division Four champions, Hethersett Athletic at long last surrendered their 100 percent record in being held to a goalless draw by second placed Hindolveston. The other two challengers for the runners-up medals, Castle Acre Swifts and Northwold S and SC met and honours were even from a 1-1 draw.

Splitz United beat bottom team Shropham United Reserves 8-0 to cement their hold on fifth place and are unlikely to be dislodged from that spot while Thurton and Ashby beat Colkirk 6-2.
