Century boosts Fakenham cup hopes

Blackiston made 101no and Will Dunger added 71no in Fakenham's 244 for one, before the Stags were dismissed for 121.

Fakenham finished as runners-up in Zone Two behind Lowestoft Lions, who received a walkover win against Norwich Dragons.

Dereham Jaguars missed out in agonising fashion as Great Melton completed a three-wicket win in the last over to go through from Zone Three to the last eight.

Rob Mabee made 46 in Dereham's 195 for nine, but George King (50) and Simon Brett (43no) guided Melton to victory and they progress on run rate, along with group winners Horsford Knights. The top three sides all finished on eight points.

The Knights did their run rate no harm, amassing 230, with Dan Weber hitting 47, before Panthers were bowled out for 63.

In Zone One, Bradenham maintained their 100pc record with an eight-wicket win at Swardeston Sharks, who finished as runners-up.

Mark Croft struck 51 and skipper Jordan Taylor made 44 in Swardeston's 183 for nine from their 36 overs.

Lewis Denmark fired an unbeaten 87, sharing in a 104 opening stand of 104 with Will Affleck (46) as the visitors cruised to victory inside 22 overs.

Garboldisham Foxes' 48-run win at Sprowcats sent them through as Zone Four winners, with the other quarter-final spot still to be decided.

Quarter-final draw: Bradenham Bears v Great Melton Phoenix, Horsford Knights v Swardeston Sharks, Lowestoft Lions v TBC, Garboldisham Foxes v Fakenham Lancastrians. Ties to be played on Sunday, July 25.
