fakenham SUCCESS: In the Red Mist Indoor Cricket League and Cup competitions, Fakenham were cup winners and league runners-up. Eight teams entered the league this season, playing a version of indoor cricket combining the English and Australian formats to make for a fast moving, eight a-side game. The league was held at Taverham Hall School throughout the winter period. The title came down to the last match of the season with top side, Fakenham, playing second-placed Great Witchingham. The Witches managed to win and overhaul a 12-point deficit, to become champions by four points in a tense encounter. In the Red Mist Cricket Cup, Swardeston beat the league champions in the first round and Fakenham came out victors against Vauxhall Mallards. Acle had a great victory against Old Buckenham and then after a win in the semi, played Fakenham in the final. Fakenham went home with the spoils as they were crowned ‘Cup Champions’. Teams are invited to apply for 2011/12 winter season.
