Evergreens travelled for their third match in the East League. As anticipated, Ipswich put the pressure on right from the starting whistle, but solid defending from all 11 Greens kept Ipswich at bay for the first half hour.

Ipswich were awarded a number of short corners in this time, but excellent defending from Tracy Dalglish and goalkeeping from Su Hoogendyk meant the ball stayed out of the net.

Two minutes before the half-time whistle Greens began to tire of the relentless pressure put on them, and a quick through-ball allowed an Ipswich shot on goal which was converted.

In the second half the pressure began to take its toll on the Greens, who were unable to sustain the defensive play, and with no substitutes, they were unable to replace tiring legs.

However Greens had a couple of attacks and were unlucky with the Ipswich umpiring decisions, as they were denied worthy penalty corners on both occasions.

Ipswich showed themselves the stronger team on the day and managed to slip a further six goals past the Greens' keeper.

Next, Greens play Norwich City at Gresham's, Holt, 11am pushback.
