There will be an opportunity to reflect on a disappointing season for Fakenham Cricket Club next week.

The club’s annual meeting will be held at the clubhouse, Highfield Lawn, Field Lane on Friday evening (7pm).

Fakenham, who were an East Anglian Premier League side not so long ago, finished third from bottom in the top flight of the Norfolk Alliance last season, and would have been relegated had Horsford A not suffered a narrow defeat in their final fixture.

Anyone wanting to get an idea of what may be happening next year is invited to come along.

As the 50th anniversary of the Bob Carter Challenge Cup approaches, important changes have been announced. The committee has decided to update the county’s cup competitions to fit in with the demands of the modern game. Following consultation with clubs it has been announced that the Carter Cup will become a 50 over tournament, with a maximum of 16 clubs competing and all games starting at midday.
