Fakenham entertained a high-flying Swaffham side and after previous close results looked to secure a home win. Green and Potter were able to field a strong side with the returning Warren, James, Tait and Curry adding strength to the pack.

Swaffham started the brightest from the kick-off though could not penetrate the young backline who are maturing game by game. Good tackling by Bond and King and the ferocious James gave Swaffham no chances. Working the ball to the other end by great forward driving, Swaffham were penalised for hands in the ruck allowing young Bond to coolly take the three points. This settled the Fakenham side and a further move saw Swaffham commit the same error with Bond having a great kicking game, adding to his tally.

By this time the Fakenham side had reduced the Swaffham contingent to 14 and the difference the extra man made allowed Fakenham to camp in the visitors 22, with this period of pressure resulting in two tries by Sol Pheonix, converted by Bond.

The turnaround saw Fakenham grab the bull by the horns and a number of powerful runs by Curry provided the platform for tries by Bond, Nick and Muir, excelling in his role at No 8.

Potter, taking the reins for the injured Green, was impressed by the quality shown by the Fakenham young back line who, when Swaffham did counter-attack, tackled and turned over the ball on a number of occasions.

This win showed that adding the right mix of experience with the up and coming young players make Fakenham a match for any team on their day.

Potter and Green's man of the match went to Nathan Muir who harried and won ball from the Swaffham 15 all afternoon.
