Fakenham Town Ladies FC first team are getting ready for the start of the 2011/12 season with pre-season training due to start on Thursday, June 23 at Clipbush Park home of Fakenham Town Football Club (7.30-9pm).

The ladies enjoyed a first season at Fakenham with a solid third-place finish in the Eastern Regions Division One North league.

The season was mixed with highs and lows, but the Ladies showed great character and put in some fantastic performances against higher opposition in both the FA Cup and County Cup, narrowly going out of both 2-1 after extra time and 1-0 respectively.

The end-of-season
awards held at Clipbush with the men’s first, reserves, U18 and Ladies’ Reserves teams capped off a great year with an enjoyable night.

The Ladies’ first team awards went to: Manager’s Player of Season: Naomi Littlewood; Players’ Player of Season: Shelley Woods; Most Improved Player of Season: Frankie Walder; Top goal scorer: Nicola Bray.

The Ladies are looking forward to another season at Fakenham Town FC and are looking to add to their squad, with training sessions open to anyone interested in joining a friendly up-and-coming club.

Anyone 16 years old or above with a keen interest in playing football can feel free to go along to training, or contact Gary Stewart (manager) on 07917 789301 or email for more details
