SCHOOL SPORT: The North Norfolk School Sport Partnership continues to organise various school sport events, and last week was a very busy week.

On Wednesday, Fakenham High School hosted the north Norfolk softball finals with 120 pupils participating in this fast-developing school sport.

Fakenham High won both the U13 and U15 competitions.

On Thursday, Fakenham Junior School won the north Norfolk schools’ Kwik Cricket finals, hosted at Fakenham Cricket Club.

Eight primary school teams from across the area competed, and the standard was very high.

Fakenham Junior School, along with Sheringham and North Walsham junior school,s now qualify for the county finals.

Thanks went to Dean Futter, north Norfolk school sports coach, the young cricket leaders from Fakenham High School and to Colin Brassett and Fakenham Cricket Club for supporting the event.

Asa Saunders, partnership development manager for the North Norfolk School Sport Partnership, said: “Softball and Kwik Cricket have been two key sports that, as a partnership, we have developed – and hopefully this will continue next year.

“The staff and coaches involved deserve praise for providing these great opportunities for their pupils.”

The excitement continues with the build up to National School Sports Week, June 27 to July 1.
