Fakenham Town are running out of time to avoid finishing bottom of the Ridgeons League.

They suffered a 1-0 defeat at Whitton on Monday after being 0-0 at half-time, their Saturday match at Godmanchester postponed.

The Ghosts trail Long Melford by 12 points at the bottom of Ridgeons Division One with four games in hand, but with goals failing to flow and the end of the season looming, they face an uphill battle to get out of the bottom spot.

On Saturday, Fakenham entertain Halstead, on Tuesday they are at home to Godmanchester, then on Thursday they play the return at Godmanchester.

With the U18s also playing catch-up, club resources will be stretched.

The Reserves, bottom of Anglian Combination Division Three, drew 3-3 at home to Freethorpe.
