Wells Town denied all three points by late Acle goal

The Seasiders travelled to Bridewell Lane with a depleted squad following late call-offs, illness and suspension but were still disappointed not to have secured all three points.

The young Wells team matched their opponents in every department and it was to no surprise when midway in the first period a good strike from Jay Myhill flew past the home keeper to give the visitors the lead.

Wells then had their best spell in the contest and really should have increased the advantage they held, Darren Armiger then made some fingertip saves to keep the visitors ahead as twice he prevented the hosts levelling.

With only minutes of the half remaining the visitors levelled when a poor defensive clearance allowed the home striker time to place his shot out of the visiting keeper’s reach.

The second period started with Wells back on top and again they went ahead when Kieran Ballett found space to place his shot past the home keeper.

Sadly Wells conceded late on when a goalmouth scramble ended with the home striker finding the back of the net.

There is a local derby at Beach Road on Saturday, with Holt United providing the opposition (2pm).
