Fakenham Town players could not contain their delight after striker Nicky Bunting showed on Saturday he is capable of scoring at a higher level.

There was more delight on Tuesday night when the Ghosts, the Ridgeons One whipping boys for two seasons, went top of the table with a 1-0 win at Gorleston (Sam Garner) to follow the weekend's encouraging 1-1 home draw with Halstead.

On Saturday, summer signing Bunting put the Ghosts ahead with a swerving 25-yard shot in the first half in the opening Ridgeons League Division One match with Halstead.

He created more chances, and Halstead got a rather fortunate second-half own-goal equaliser.

The Ghosts entertain Stowmarket on Saturday.
