Fakenham Town take to the road for their next two fixtures, trekking to FC Clacton on Saturday and March on Tuesday after mixed results from their last two home games, a 3-2 win over Stowmarket followed by Tuesday night's disappointing 2-0 defeat by Diss.

They complete their Ridgeons Division One season at home to Godmanchester on April 26 and away to promoted Ely City on May 3, writes John Cushion.

On Tuesday ex-Ghosts manager Paul Tong saw his Tangerines climb to third place after a poor game. Fakenham had Daniel Stockdale back in goal after dislocating his knee two matches earlier, and he and his defence were under heavy pressure in the opening 15 minutes. A corner ended with the ball coming back off Stockdale's bar and a shot flew over before the opening goal on the quarter-hour. A deep left-wing corner was headed between the far post and Stockdale by former Fakenham central defender Paul Andrews. Two minutes later Stockdale was at full stretch making a fine save from Stu Jenkinson.

The Ghosts started to get some passes together and Julian Delicata looked set to equalise with just the keeper to beat, but Michael Hilton came off his line quickly to block the chance.

The game was sealed within a minute of the second-half kick-off when Gavin Norman popped up with the Tangerines' second. There was plenty of hard work from Fakenham in the second-half rain, but they rarely threatened to score.

Fakenham: Stockdale, Fenwick, Raisbury, Garrod, Bamford, Whitred, Haynes, Bryant, Darby, Delicata, Critten, Bacon, Connolly, Cracknell, Morgan, King.

The club presentation night is on May 10 with a hog roast and disco, tickets £10, and the football quiz is on April 25 for teams of four, entry £5, start 7.30pm.
