GOLF: The Norfolk Centenary Clubs Cup was donated by David Hood in Fakenham Golf Club’s Centenary year in 1989.
The cup is played for by Norfolk clubs who have celebrated their centenary, and is played for annually at each on a rota basis.
To date nine clubs in Norfolk are eligible to play: Fakenham, Sheringham, Royal Norwich, Royal Cromer, Hunstanton, Caister & Great Yarmouth, The Links Country Park, Royal West Norfolk and Eaton, who celebrated their centenary this year and will host the competition in 2011.
This year eight clubs participated at Fakenham, who were the winners for the third time due in no small part to past captain Steve James’s best of the day net 69.
Results: Fakenham 295, Royal Norwich 302, Mundesley 304, Sheringham, 309, Caister & Great Yarmouth 309, Hunstanton 315, Royal Cromer 318, The Links Country Park 340.
