Golfers raise �1,000 for charity

Fakenham Golf Club president David Palmer opened the 120th annual meeting which was very well attended.Retiring captain Steve James remarked on an enjoyable, extremely busy year and thanked the members for their contributions to his chosen charity Macmillan Nurses, which had raised in excess of a �1,000.

Retiring captain Steve James remarked on an enjoyable, extremely busy year and thanked the members for their contributions to his chosen charity Macmillan Nurses, which had raised in excess of a �1,000.

The incoming captain Paul Chilvers thanked him in the traditional way with the presentation of a tankard and welcomed Steve Smith his vice-captain.
