MOTORCYCLE RACING: Last weekend saw Fakenham racer Carl Nelson competing in the latest round of the MRO Superstock Championship at the Cadwell Park circuit.
After a crash in the first qualifying, in very wet conditions his bike had to be hastily repaired. He managed to complete 10 minutes out of 15 and qualified in fourth place.
Saturday ended with a seven-lap sprint race where Nelson finished in third position despite having a loose handlebar.
On Sunday, in the first 12 race, Nelson battled through to second position.
In the second 12-lap race he took longer to move up to second place. He was pleased though with a good solid ride and happy with another second place.
His next meeting is at Brands Hatch on October 2 and 3. Nelson thanks Bruce Towers Heating Engineers, James Beck Auctions and the Great Eastern Motor Cycle Club for all of their support.
