Hindringham 3, Sprowston 0

With changing rooms now available in the new village facilities, Hindringham celebrated their first match to be played at The Elms this season with a win before a large crowd.

Many inspected the superb facilities the club now has at its disposal in the village project.

Manager Marcus Oliver recalled Jack Ainsley in place of Hudson, with Kevin Whittred returning to the bench after injury.

Hindringham started at a fast pace, getting the ball wide to Jason Chilvers on a number of occasions, and he whipped in two tempting crosses which were not converted.

Then Sprowston came into the game and keeper Daniel Stockdale had to be alert to stop the danger. Darren West was put through with the keeper to beat, after great work from Mark Betts and Shaun Belton, the keeper saving with his legs, Ainsley putting the follow-up wide.

In the second half Hidnringham started to take control, with David Coslett and Shaun Belton controlling the midfield, allowing Betts time and space to pick his passes.

Oliver introduced Mathew Hudson in place of Ainsley and he had an immediate impact.

From a long ball from the back, Hudson beat his man on the bye-line and crossed for West to slot home at the near post.

Within two minutes Hindringham were 2-0 up, this time Clipston feeding Betts in the box, who was brought down by his marker. Gary Belton made no mistake from the spot.

Hindringham were in total control at this point and were camped in Sprowston’s half.

A quick and superbly-delivered free-kick from Gary Belton found Hudson at the far post and he put a delightful header into the roof of the net to give Hindringham a fine 3-0 victory.

This week there is a double header at Hindringham with the first team playing Horsford at 1.45pm, followed by the reserve team entertaining Reepham at 4pm.
