Hindringham on Saturday held out for a victory which secures their senior status for next season. And on Tuesday they won 2-0 at Bradenham.
After a disappointing defeat at home to Stalham, Hindringham had injury problems with Chilvers and Shaun Belton only fit enough to make the bench and Ainsley having to play for the reserves, due to player shortage. Manager Oliver had to start himself up front, with Parsley helping out on the bench.
Hindringham started well, with great link-up play, and were having a lot of enjoy getting the wing-backs Clipston and Hudson in behind defenders. Betts laid Clipston in and he whipped in a great cross for Hudson to head Hindringham into a deserved lead.
Watton were dangerous on the counter attack, and from bad marking they equalised. Watton scored early second half, but Oliver was causing the Watton back four problems. From a long clearance he lobbed the keeper to put Hindringham level. But Watton scored with a good lob over the stranded Stockdale.
Hindringham upped a gear. West, got onto the end of a long ball and squared to sub Shaun Belton, who slotted home. He later left the field with an injury.
West had a chance to put Hindringham in the lead, after a great through ball from Betts, but the keeper saved with his legs.
The goal of the game came when Matthew Hudson picked up the ball from inside his own half and went on a maizy run, beating four defenders before coolly slotting home under the advancing keeper to give Hindringham a 4-3 lead.
Stockdale, in goal, saved well on a number of occasions and his handling was top-drawer.
This week Hindringham are at home to Long Stratton, ko 2.30. The reserves play their last game of the season at Porlingland.
Hindringham would like to send their congratulations to Wells Town on their promotion, a great effort.
