Acle Indoor Bowls Club manager Denis Goodley has been appointed director of development for the sport and will sit on the management board of the national governing body the English Indoor Bowls Association.

He will also represent the EIBA, and be a director of the Bowls Development Alliance, which has again been awarded funds for the next four years from Sport England to help with the development of the sport.

“I am working on the production of a resource pack for the EIBA and on the final draft of the youth passport which covers the nationally recognised skill pathway, ie from bronze to silver and finally gold,” explained.

“The EIBA now have a clear youth pathway for the indoor game from the skills to the semi-professional circuit.

“I was particularly impressed with my own club who had 14 qualifications in the national championships to put Acle well and truly on the map.”
