Fakenham Town's reins will continue to be held by Andrew Jarvis after he was re-elected as chairman at Tuesday night's annual general meeting.

Jarvis was appointed to the position in mid-February, and was again the choice for the future of the Ghosts, with Matt Hagon remaining as vice chairman and Nigel Worthington continuing his role as club ambassador.

Returning to the club as secretary is Ian Semmons, having previously held the position of vice chairman. Lorraine Clayton stays on as treasurer, while Bill Clayton remains as club president.

The rest of the committee will be made up of Stuart Ballett, Nina Batchelor, Shane Fysh, Michelle Harrison, Tony Miles, Andy Payne and Jackie Price.

Talking of the team around him, and the general future of the club – whose first team play in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division – Jarvis said: “We start now with a clean slate as we look to the future of Fakenham Town FC.

“A lot of work has been undertaken behind the scenes since the middle of February, bringing people together especially for the benefit of everyone at the club and we’ll be looking to carry that on. We’ve got some big-name teams coming pre-season and generally the new season isn’t really that far away – you could say the hard work really starts now.

“The team I have on my committee have worked tirelessly to get Clipbush Park looking at its best, and we’ve got some great people on board – all of whom give up a huge chunk of their time to do so, for which I’d like to thank them. I’d also like to thank those that have now left their roles, having done so much in so many ways for the club over the years.

“We are always looking to expand our numbers on the committee, so if anyone has some time to spare and wants to come along and have a chat, then either myself or indeed any one of the committee would be happy to talk to them, something that my vice chairman Matt did at the end of last season.”

The club has vacancies in a number of areas, most notably reserve-team manager. Playing in the third division of the Almary Green Anglian Combination, a suitably qualified person is required to lead and develop the team.

Also required are individuals to form a ‘grounds team’ to maintain the general upkeep of the club’s ground.

The overseeing of all pitches at Clipbush Park, including cutting, marking and general maintenance in line with the club’s fixture schedules will be part of the duties shared between the small number of people.

Full details of all vacancies at Clipbush Park can be found on the club’s website, and any interested parties are invited to e-mail vacancies@fakenhamtownfc.co.uk.

Tickets for the Ghosts’ prestigious friendlies against development sides from Leicester City (July 20, 7pm) and Norwich City (July 23, 3pm) went on sale at 9am yesterday. The club is operating an ‘Early Bird’ scheme for anyone buying online before midnight on Saturday with supporters saving £2 on an adult ticket, and £1 on a child ticket.

These can be purchased through the official website at www.fakenhamtownfc.co.uk/tickets
