The juniors from Gallow Indoor Bowls Club at Fakenham entertained Pentney on Sunday morning for a pairs competition. The bowlers, pictured, were from the younger age groups at each club, where they had been attending coaching sessions.
Eight members of each club attended, playing a pairs format over a two-hour session. The Gallow teams were Daniel/Alicia, Tim/Rhys, Curtis/Matt, and Joe/Rahul, pitted against Melissa/Jasmine, Aiden/Luke, Josh/Ellie, and Ryan/Mark.
In the early ends Pentney forged ahead leading by a substantial margin on one rink and comfortably on the other two, with only a token defence from Gallow where Daniel's rink maintained a narrow lead.
Gallow slowly worked their way back and at the end of the match the result was two rinks won by each club, a very fair result.

Pentney will take satisfaction in winning on aggregate shots of 57 to Gallow's 43. Regardless of the result, all participants enjoyed their games. Some will also have learned valuable lessons.
There was a large and responsive spectator presence including, in addition to the competitors' families, many adult bowlers from both clubs. These events occur regularly and a return match with Pentney is scheduled for the end of March.
