THE Seasiders, bottom of Anglian Combination Division One, kick-started their season against their mid-table hosts.

Kicking up the slope, Wells had a couple of early chances, Tom East finding space only to see his shot go wide of Beetenson's upright, then a good cross from East found Daniel Grocott whose shot flew inches over the bar.

At the other end Armiger saved at a striker's feet as Stratton broke through the Wells defence. Wells lost Cawston with a nasty head injury. Both sides had chances but defences cleared any danger as the half drew to a close.

Wells conceded a penalty in the 50th minute but kept their shape and continued to cause the home side problems with East and Grocott linking up well in attack.

East scored Wells' equaliser through determination as he turned his marker and slotted home at the keeper's near post.

East found the net on the hour only to be ruled offside and Frary had a goal-bound shot hacked off theline with the keeper stranded.

In the 85th minute an excellent pin-point flag kick from Griffin found Grocott, who powered home to give Wells all the spoils.

Wells host Sole Bay on Saturday (kick-off 2.30pm).
