Fakenham racer Carl Nelson was in action last weekend in the latest round of the MRO Superstock 1000 Championship at his local circuit, Snetterton.

Saturday's first qualifying session came to an abrupt end after he was knocked off his bike by another rider after only three laps. After repairing the bike, he was able to get out for the second qualifying session where he qualified fifth overall in the mixed power bike grid and third in the superstock class. Saturday's seven-lap sprint race was frustrating for Nelson as he found himself on the back of the leading pack, unable to find a way through, and he finished sixth.

Sunday's first 12-lap race saw Nelson into second position on the first lap. Consistent lap times ensured he finished five seconds ahead of the third place rider.

In his second 12-lap race of the day Nelson maintained second place for the first three laps but struggled to find grip and was unable to match his pace of the first race.

He dropped back into fourth place which was converted to third after the second-place rider crashed out.

Nelson's next meeting will be at Oulton Park.He thanks M D Williamson Carpets, James Beck Auctions, Bruce Towers Plumbing & Heating, Willowtree Signs & Graphics CR Engineering and the Great Eastern Motorcycle Club for their support.
