The former grammar school pavilion now on the grounds of Fakenham Cricket Club has had a complete renovation to bring it back to its former state.

The old building is a popular alternative viewing place to the modern clubhouse a few yards away, giving a different angle to the wicket square. Club chairman Martin Turner explained: “Two years ago the corner of the building was stuck by a delivery van, which dislodged one of the main support posts. Now, thanks to the kind generosity of G&R Building and Maintenance of Fakenham, not only has the repair work been completed but they have kindly given up their time to give the whole building a complete new coat of paint and restore it to its original state.”

He said: “Fakenham Cricket Club would like to thank G&R Building and Maintenance for all they have done to help the club with the upkeep of the ground and its facilities.”

In another sponsorship boost, Rudi Hillerman, Fakenham CC’s overseas player and coach, is for this season having his kit sponsored by Dempsey Heating. Thanks went to Kevin Topping and his company for all they do for sport, and especially cricket, in the local area.
