Fakenham go into Saturday's home match with Bury St Edmunds in danger of becoming detached at the foot of the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League.

They came away pointless from the weekend game at Vauxhall Mallards, which leaves them the only side without a win in the 10-team league, now 27 points adrift of Norwich and Great Witchingham.

However, as Bury showed over the weekend, one win can greatly boost a points total. They took 30 from their home win over Norwich.

At Brundall, against Mallards, Fakenham again failed to post a decent score, being bowled out for 133 in the 48th over.

Australian Keegan De Ridder, batting No 4, top scored with 46 and received support from No 5 Sean Cooper (37).

Opener Chris Crane with 15 was the only other player to reach double figures as Paul Bradshaw claimed 4-35 and Indika de Saram 4-17.

In reply Rob Purton made 59 and Ian Harrison notched up an unbeaten 56 as Mallards cruised to a nine-wicket win and 25 points, despite a threat that rain might cut the game short.

In Lovewell Blake Norfolk Alliance Division Three, Fakenham's Sri Lankan Sam Desilva contributed a fine 61 to Fakenham's 198 against Swaffham.

But the visitors used a big first-wicket stand to build a match-winning total of 199-5.

On Saturday, Fakenham visit Downham A.

In NCB West Norfolk League Division Three, second-placed Fakenham A made 77 to Downham's 64, while Fakenham B scored 131-7 against leaders Necton's 132-3.
