Softball: The Fakenham Rampant Horse softball team are entering their third season as strong contenders for Norfolk Softball League victory, having won the Invitational League and been runners-up in the Open League in 2010.

The sport is similar to baseball, but played with a slightly bigger ball and with under-arm slow-pitch. The league games are played by both sexes from the age of 16, with players being fed into teams from Fakenham High School.

With backing from the pub’s landlord, Aggie Baker, the team led by Sue Bunkle and Tilly Baron, who both work behind the bar, has many of their loyal and regular customers also playing.

They play at Fakenham High School on a Thursday evening and welcome any new players that want an enjoyable evening’s sport and socializing.
