Fakenham Rugby Club played host to nine local primary schools for the annual tag rugby festival. The afternoon was a great success with approximately 200 people attending.

The event was organised by school sports co-ordinator, Matthew Whitaker who hopes that the club will now see several new faces at training on Sunday mornings (10.30am-noon).

Forty five Year 2 children received coaching and also were given the opportunity to watch the older ones play. Year 5 and 6 pupils played matches against other schools.

After many games, Astley and defending champions Allsaints qualified for the final. The two sides played some exceptional rugby and were locked together at full time, 15-15.

In extra time the 'golden try' scored by Astley (pictured) secured the winners' trophy.

Thank you to everyone who helped out in any way, and don't forget about training on Sunday mornings!
