With City second in the league, the match lived up to expectations that it would be tough and Evergreens were put under constant pressure in the first half.

The defence held strong, conceding only one goal, with captain Naomi Hirst working tirelessly and taking some knocks in the process.

The second half saw Evergreens build some attacks, with young player Harriett Segasby and Phoebe Carman combining down the right wing to put City under pressure.
