To even reach the final had been a momentous effort from a team that had only been put together at the start of season and everyone involved was fully aware that it would take something special to lift the trophy against a team that had gone the whole season unbeaten.
The Ghosts started very brightly and went close to opening the scoring twice through Jack and Ben. This surprised St Edmunds and they were unable to get into game due to the tenacity of Brandon, Cameron and Jack in midfield and the solid defence of Travis and Daniel.
The Ghosts took a deserved lead when Brandon scored with an excellent free-kick from 20 yards which swerved and dipped as it flew past the helpless keeper. St Edmunds found it difficult to break through in open play but managed to draw level with a good headed goal from a corner.
