Lowestoft's players and parents arrived in Fakenham on Saturday morning and were taken to their accommodation at Fakenham Racecourse. The rest of the day was spent at the rugby club where the young players joined in training sessions and drills. Lunch was provided by the Fakenham parents followed by a lot of fun and games.
On Sunday they had three games to play to decide who played in the finals. The Baabaas put on a very impressive display, winning their first match against Ashby de la Zouch 21-0 showing their pack's strength in the scrums, lineouts and mauls. Next came Pocklington who scored some very soft tries in a 35-0 win. Against West Bridgeford, supporting runs and good passing saw four tries and superb defending in a 28-0 win.
The final against Thurrock was a very tense and competitive match. The Barbars scored first (converted), Thurrock responding with an unconverted try. Barbars scored another converted try in the second half and with the time ticking away Thurrock scored a converted try in the dying minutes. Final score: Barbars 14, Thurrok 12.
